Hajimemashite!
Hajimemashite! My name is Jinn, born in South
Korea, and raised in The Netherlands. For as long as I remember I have been blessed with a love and passion for the Japanese language and culture. A passion that led to my decision to study the Japanese language, which I have learned to master over the past few years. This has brought me so many fun and great experiences, that I would like to share this with you.
Ever since I was a child, I have always had a head for languages. I was told that when I was 4 years old, nothing on the kitchen table was safe from my grabbing hands. I had to take it and read the text on it, no matter how uninteresting! It was just that I loved to read.
These were the first signs of my passion for languages, which over te years developed into only one and very particular focus: Japan.
My love for Japan was born when I found out about Japanese dubbed anime on the internet as a 12-year-old, and watched this for the first time. I was invested right away, and wanted to hear and see more.
Eventually just hearing Japanese wasn’t enough. I needed to speak it as well. In my free time I studied the very basic expressions, but just being able to speak and understand those made me already very happy.
That passion remained until I finished high school, and my next step was to get my Bachelor’s Degree in Oriental Languages and Communication at Zuyd University of Applied Sciences in Maastricht.
After 4 interesting and challenging years, an exchange program in Tokyo and an internship at a marketing company in Matsumoto, I graduated cum laude and was ready to put my experiences into practice.
By now I have been active as a Project Manager at Dujat – Dutch and Japanese Trade Federation for almost two years, work as a freelance video editor and in my free time I love to teach the Japanese basics to beginners.
Starting Sewa Services is a great next step for me to develop these activities I used to do in my free time at a professional level, and to start combining the things that I love: helping people, letting my creativity flow, and of course, very simple: Japan!
